PSAL. XXII.

MY God, my God, Why haſt thou me

forſaken? Why art thou

So far from helping me, and from

words of my roaring now?

verse 2 My God in the day time I cry,

but thou me doſt not hear,

And in the night ſeaſon I am

not ſilent in my fear.

verse 3 But thou alwayes moſt holy art,

O thou of Iſrael

That doſt inhabite conſtantly

the praiſes that excell.

verse 4 Our fathers all in great diſtreſſe

did put their truſt in thee,

They truſted, and thou didſt them all

deliver ſpeedilie.

verse 5 They cri'd to thee, & then they were

deliv'red great and ſmall;

In thee they truſted, and they not

confounded were at all.

verse 6 But I am as the crawling worme,

no man in any wiſe,

Of all men a moſt vile reproach

whom people do deſpiſe.

verse 7 All they do laugh me ſtill to ſcorn

that ſee me in the way;

They with contempt ſhoot out the li…

they ſhake the head; and ſay,

verse 8 In GOD he truſted that he would

deliver him from ill,

Let him deliver him, ſith he

delighted in him ſtill.

verse 9 But thou art he that ſafely me

out of the womb didſt take;

When I was on my mothers breaſts

to hope thou didſt me make.

verse 10 When I was new come from th… wo…

I was then caſt on thee,

Thou from my mothers belly art

a gracious God to me.

verse 11 Be thou not far away from me,

for trouble now is neer;

Of thee I have great need, for none

there is to help or hear.

verse 12 Great many Buls moſt fiercely have

me compaſſd to confound;

Strong Buls of Baſhan that are ſtrong

have ſtill beſet me round.

verse 13 They ſtill upon me with their mōth;

did gape me to devore,

Ev'n as a lion, fearefully

which ravening all doth rore.

verse 14 I am like water powred out,

my bones are out of joint,

In my bowels my heart like wax

is melted every point.

verse 15 Like a potſheard my ſtrength is dri'd,

my tongue it cleaveth faſt

Unto my jawes; into the duſt

of death me brought thou haſt.

verse 16 For dogs have compaſſd me about,

the wicked that did meet

In aſſembly, have me incloſde;

they pierc'd my hands and feet.

verse 17 My bones I all may ſurely tell,

which are both dry and bare,

In fury great, they fiercely look,

and als upon me ſtare.

verse 18 Thoſe cruell men my garments tak…

and part among them all.

Upon my veſture they caſt lots

to whom it may be fall.

verse 19 But now be thou not far, O LORD

from me with grief oppreſt;

O thou who art mine onelyonly ſtrength

to help me now make haſt.

verse 20 Deliver from the bloody ſword

my ſoul in trembling feare;

And from the dogs devouring power

ſave thou my darling dear.

verse 21 Now from the lions cruell mout…

me ſave in tymes ſo hard,

For from the hornes of Unicornes

thou ſurely haſt me heard.

verse 22 Unto my brethren carefully

thy Name declare I will,

And in the congregation I

will praiſe thee ever ſtill.

verse 23 All ye that fear the Lord him praiſe,

ye ſeed of Jacob dear

Him glorifie, and all ye who

are Iſraels ſeed him fear.

verse 24 For he hath not deſpiſde, nor yet

abhorred utterly

Th' afflicteds grief, nor hid his face

but heard when he did cry.

verse 25 In the great congregation ſtill

my praiſe of thee moſt dear

Shall be; I will als pay my vowes

before them that him fear.

verse 26 The meek ſhal eat wel ſatisfi'd

they hearty praiſe ſhall give

Unto the Lord, that him do ſeek;

your heart for ay ſhall live.

verse 27 The worlds ends all remember ſhal,

and turn to GOD therefore;

The kinreds of the nations all

ſhall worſhip thee before.

verse 28 For to the LORD alone by right

the kingdome doth belong,

And he is the great Governour

the Nations all among.

verse 29 All they that be upon the earth

fat in proſperity,

Shall of his good things ſurely eat,

and worſhip chearefully.

All they that go down to the duſt

ſhall bow down him before,

And none on earth alive his ſoul

ſhall keep for evermore.

verse 30 A little ſeed ſhall ſurely him

ſerve in ſinceritie;

It for a generation ſhall

to GOD accounted be.

verse 31 They ſhal come, & his righteouſ…

they ſhall declare anone

Unto a people yet unborn,

that he this all hath done.

PSALME XXIII.

Into the paths of righteouſneſſe

for his Names ſake indeed.

verse 4 Though through the valley of deaths ſhade

I walk, I'l fear no ill:

Thou art with me, thy rod and ſtaffe

me comfort ever ſtill.

verse 5 Thou ſets in preſence of my foes

a table me before:

Mine head with oyl thou doſt anoynt,

my cup it runneth o're.

verse 6 Goodneſſe and mercy all my life

ſhall neer me follow ſtill,

And in the houſe of GOD the LORD

for ever dwell I will.

verse 6 This is the generation now

of them that in each place

Him ſeek, O Jacob, that alwayes

do humbly ſeek thy face.

verse 7 Ye gates lift up your heads, and ye

doores everlaſting all

Be lifted up, and then come in

the King of glory ſhall.

verse 8 Who is the King of glory great?

the mighty LORD and ſtrong;

The Lord who ſtill in battell is

with might his foes among.

verse 9 Ye gates lift up your heads, and ye

doors everlaſting all

Be lifted up, and then come in

the King of glory ſhall.

verse 10 Who is this King of glory great?

the Lord who hath as his

Moſt mighty hoſts, ev'n ſurely he

the King of glory is.

PSAL. XXV.

VNtoUnto thee, O LORD, do I now

lift up my ſoul on hie:

verse 2 O my GOD, I with all my heart

do alwayes truſt in thee,

Let me not in thine anger hot

aſhamed be for ever;

Let not mine en'mies in their pride

alwayes triumph me over.

verse 3 Yea, let none be aſham'd at all

that humbly wait on thee,

But who tranſgreſſe without a cauſe

let them aſhamed be.

verse 4 Shew me thy ways O Lord, thy pa…

verse 11 For thy names ſake moſt humbly now

O LORD, I thee intreat,

PSAL. XXVI.

…Udge me, O Lord, for walk'd I have

in mine integrity,

I truſted als have in the Lord,

verse 2 Examine me, O LORD and als

me prove in every part:

Try thou like wiſe moſt narrowly

verse 3 For thy moſt loving kindneſſe is

alwayes before mine eyes,

And in thy truth I conſtantly

have walked thee to pleaſe.

verse 4 With perſons vaine I ſurely have

not ſit in companie;

Nor will I once go with thoſe me…

that falſe diſſemblers be,

verse 5 Of ill doers I hated have

the congregation great,

With wicked men in companie

of thanks moſt heartilie,

And tell of all the wondrous works

that have been done by thee.

The habitation of thy houſe,

And alſo the moſt glorious place

where doth thine honour dwell.

O gather not my ſoul with thoſe

that grievous ſinners be,

Nor yet my life likewiſe with men

whom bloody ſtill we ſee.

verse 10 In whoſe moſt cruel hands alwayes

miſchief is ever ſtill,

And their right hand againſt all right

great bribes do alwayes fill.

verse 11 Put as for me I will now walk

in mine integritie,
