PSAL. CIX.

HOld not thy peace, O thou that art

the God ev'n of my praiſe:

For ſtill the mouth of them that are

moſt wicked in their wayes,

…nd the mouth of deceitfull als

are opned me to wrong;

…gainſt me ſtill they ſpoken have,

with a moſt lying tongue.

They alſo compaſſd me about

with words from hatred brought,

…d cruelly without a cauſe,

they fierce againſt me fought.

For my great love they always are

mine adverſaries ill,

… in this trouble I my ſelf

give unto prayer ſtill.

verse 5 And with great ill for all my go…

they have rewarded me,

And for my love a recompence

they hatred made to be.

verse 6 Set thou as ruler over him

the wicked to command:

Let Satan als to vex him ſore

ſtand ſtill at his right hand.

verse 7 Let him condemned be when …

ſhall to be judged come;

And als his payer at all time

let it ſtill ſin become.

verse 8 Few be his dayes, another als

let then his office take:

verse 9 Let his children be fatherleſſe,

his wife a widow make.

verse 10 Let his children be vagabo…

and beg continually:

Let them from places deſolate

ſeek bread in miſery.

verse 11 Let the extortioner catch al…

he hath upon his ſoil,

And let the ſtrangers come alſo,

and all his labour ſpoil.

verse 12 Let mercy none at all extend

to him in his diſtreſſe;

…or yet let any favour his

poor children fatherleſſe.

verse 13 Let alſo his poſteritie

be cut off all about;

…nd in the ages following let

their name be blotted out.

verse 14 With GOD let all his fathers faults

remembred be alway,

…nd let not als his mothers ſin

be blotted out for ay.

Let them before the LORD appear,

and that continually:

…t of them he may from the earth

cut off the memory.

Becauſe that mercy he forgot

to ſhew, and in each part

…d perſecute the poor; that he

might ſlay the broken in heart.

verse 17 As he lov'd curſing ſo let it

come to him; and as he

Delighted not in bleſſing, ſo

far from him let it be.

verse 18 As he himſelf with curſing clo…

like water let it go

Into his bowels, and like oyl

into his bones alſo.

verse 19 Let it even as the garment be

which covereth him without

And for a girdle wherewith he

ſtill girded is about.

verse 20 Now from the Lord to all m…

let this be the reward,

And of them that againſt my ſoul

ſpeak ill without regard.

verse 21 But do for me for thy Names

O GOD the LORD moſt hie,

Becauſe thy mercy ſtill is good

deliver now thou me.

verse 22 For in a poor eſtate I am,

and needy in great ſmart,

…nd with great ſorrow me within

ſore wounded is mine heart.

As doth a ſhadow that declines,

ſo I away do go,

…d as the little locuſt I

am toſſed to and fro.

My trembling knees are alwayes weak'

and that through faſting pale,

…d als my fleſh of faintneſſe all

in greateſt need doth fail.

I alſo a reproach became

unto them for my deeds;

…hen they upon me looked, then

they ſhaked all their heads.

Help me, O LORD my GOD, & me

in mercy ſave anone;

That they may know this is thy hād

that thou, LORD, haſt it done.

Let them all curſe, but bleſſe thou us,

let them aſhamed be

…hen they ariſe, but who thee ſerves

let him rejoice in thee.

verse 29 Let al my foes with ſhame be cloth

and let themſelves them cover

Still with their own confuſion great

as with a mantle over.

verse 30 I greatly with my mouth will no…

praiſe the almighty LORD:

Yea I among the multitude

will praiſe to him afford.

verse 31 For at the right hand of the poo…

he ſtand ſhall ſurely then,

To ſave him from thoſe that his Soul

unjuſtly do condemnne.

PSAL. CX.

THe Lord did ſay unto my Lord,

ſit thou at my right hand,

Untill thy foes thy footſtool I

make whereon thou may ſtand.

verse 2 The Lord the rod of all thy ſtrengt…

ſhall out of Zion ſend,

In midſt ev'n of thine enmies all

rule thou untill the end.

verse 3 Thy people whom thou choſen …

ſure ſhall moſt willing be,

Even in the moſt deſired day

that power great comes from thee,

… beauties of great Holineſſe

with a moſt pleaſant ſhew:

…om the fair mornings wōb thou haſt

even of thy youth the dew.

The Lord moſt: ſolemnly hath ſworn

and will repent him never,

…f th'order of Melchizedek

thou art a Prieſt for ever.

The Lord at thy right hand alwayes

to help thee in all things,

…hall in the day of his great wrath

ſtrike through the mighty Kings.

The heathen he ſhall judge and fill

the place with bodies dead;

…e over many countries ſhall

moſt fiercely wound the head.

He ſhall victorious in the way

drink of the brook indeed,

…herefore he ſhall in great triumph

lift highly up the head.

PSALME CXI.

PRaiſe ye the Lord; I with my heart

now praiſe him ſurely ſhall

In th' Aſſembly of the upright

and congregation all.

verse 2 The works of the Almighty LORD

are great as we perceive,

Sought out of all them carefully

that therein pleaſure have.

verse 3 Right hon'rable his great work is,

and glorious als moſt ſure,

And his moſt perfect righteouſneſſe

for ever doth endure.

verse 4 To be remembred he hath made

his works moſt wonderfull,

The LORD alwayes moſt gracious is,

and of compaſſion full.

verse 5 He unto them that fear him hath

given meat aboundantlie;

He of his Covenant made moſt ſure

will ever mindfull be.

verse 6 He to the people of his works

hath ſhew'd the power moſt large;

That of the heathen he may give

to them the heritage.

verse 7 The works of his hands veritie

and judgement are alway,

All his divine commandments ſtill

are ſure and faſt for ay.

verse 8 For ever and for ever they

ſtand with great ſtedfaſtneſſe,

And are alſo moſt wiſely done

in trueth and uprightneſſe.

verse 9 He ſent redemption to his folk,

his Cov'nant of great fame

For ever he commanded hath;

right holy is his Name.

verse 10 Gods fear wiſdomes beginning is,

good underſtanding ſure,

Have they that do his word, his praiſe

for ever doth endure.

PSAL. CXII.

PRaiſe ye the Lord, bleſt is the man

that fears the LORD aright,

That in his wiſe commandments all

ſtill greatly doth delight.

verse 2 His ſeed ſhall mighty be upon

the earth aſſuredlie,

The uprights generation ſhall

for ever bleſſed be.

verse 3 Great wealth and riches ever faſt

ſhall in his houſe be ſure,

And his moſt perfect righteouſneſſe

for ever doth endure.

verse 4 To the upright ariſeth light

in darkneſſe ſpeedilie,

Moſt gracious of compaſſion full

and righteous als is he.

verse 5 A good man ſheweth favour ſtill

and willingly doth lend,

He with diſcretion his affaires

will guide ev'n to the end.

verse 6 He ſurely not for ever ſhall

be mov'd, ſo fix'd is he,

The righteous in remembrance ſure

ſhall everlaſting be.

verse 7 He ſhall not be afraid of what

ill tidings can afford,

His heart is ever fixed faſt,

ſtill truſting in the Lord.

verse 8 His heart always eſtabiſh'd is,

he not afraid ſhall be,

Untill upon his enmies all

his full deſire he ſee.

verse 9 He hath diſperſd and given to poor,

his righteouſneſſe for ay

Endures; his horn with honour ſhall

exalted be alway.

verse 10 The wicked grieved ſhall it ſee,

his teeth he gnaſhing all

Shall melt away; and the deſire

of ill men periſh ſhall.

PSAL. CXIII.

PRaiſe ye the Lord, O of the Lord

ye ſervants now proclame

His worthy praiſe: of God the Lord

praiſe the moſt holy Name.

verse 2 Now of the LORD moſt bleſſed be

the Name which we adore,

From this time forth from age to age,

and als for evermore.

verse 3 From the firſt riſing of the Sun,

unto his going down.

The LORDS Name to be honour'd is

with praiſe and great renown.

verse 4 The LORD above all nations is

moſt high in Majeſtie,

And likewiſe is his glory great,

above the heavens hie.

verse 5 Who is now like unto the LORD

our God who doth excell

Who on high in the higheſt heav'n

with Majeſtie doth dwell?

verse 6 Who though moſt high, yet he himſe…

ſtill humbleth in his love,

Things to behold that are on earth,

and in the heav'ns above.

verse 7 Out of the duſt he raiſeth up

the poor in miſerie,

And out of the dung hill alſo

the needie lifteth hie.

verse 8 That he him up in dignitie

with Princes high may ſet,

With thoſe that of his people all

are ev'n the Princes great.

He doth the barren woman make

to keep houſe, and to be

A mother glade of children dear:

the mighty LORD praiſe yee.

PSAL. CXIIII.

WHen Iſrael out of Egypt land

went by a happy change,

And Jacobs houſe a people left

that were of language ſtrange,

His Sanctuarie Judah was,

wherein he choſd to dwell,

…nd Iſra'l his dominion als

which he did rule right well.

The ſea it ſaw, and as in feare

with haſt the flight did take,

And Jordans river running ſtraight

was driv'n moſt quickly back.

verse 4 The mountains ſteep with their high tops

did quake and skip as rams;

So did like wiſe the little hills

ev'n like the younger lambs.

verse 5 What aild thee, O thou troubled f…

that thou the flight didſt take?

Thou Jordan that ſo ſpeedilie

thou waſt by force driv'n back?

verse 6 Ye mountaines high, what was … cau…

that ye did skip like rams?

What mov'd you alſo little hills

to skip like younger lambs?

verse 7 Thou at the preſence of the Lord

earth tremble all and fear,

Ev'n at the preſence of the GOD

of Jacob to him dear.

verse 8 Which into waters turn'd the ro…

ev'n ſtanding like a lake,

And in the flint a fountain fair

of waters clear did make.

PSAL. CXV.

LOrd not to us, not unto us,

but unto thy name take

Great glory, for thy ſtedfaſt truth

and for thy mercies ſake.

verse 2 Wherefore ſhould new the heath …

where is their God alone

But our God's in the heav'ns, he hath

what ever he pleaſed done

Their idols ſilver are and gold

workes of mens hands they be,

They have mouths made, but can not ſpeak,

and eyes but they not ſee.

Of ears they have the ſhape, but they

hear not what men do tell,

They noſes formed alſo have

but there with cannot ſmell.

They hands have, but they handle not

and feet but cannot walk:

A throat they have, but throgh it they

can no way ſpeak or talk.

To thoſe vain things they are moſt like

that in their wayes unjuſt

Them make; ev'n ſo is every one

that into them doth truſt.

verse 9 Truſt thou O Iſrael in the Lord

their help and ſhield that be:

verse 10 Truſt in the Lord, O A'rons houſe,

their help and ſhield is he.

verse 11 Ye that do fear the living Lord,

truſt in the Lord alway,

He is their ſtrong help and their ſhield

that ſtill upon him ſtay.

verse 12 The Lord of us hath mindfull been,

he ſure will bleſſe us ſtill,

He will bleſſe Iſrals houſe, the houſe

of Aaron bleſſe he will.

verse 13 He wil them bleſſe that fear the Lord

and that both great and ſmall:

verse 14 God ſhal increaſe you more & more

you and your children all.

verse 15 You all that have an upright heart

are bleſſed of the Lord,

Which both the heav'n & als the earth

made by his mighty word.

verse 16 The heav'n, ye ev'n the heav'ns above

are all the Lords by right,

But to the ſons of men he hath

the earth giv'n by his might.

verse 17 The dead in grave can in no way

praiſe give the Lord unto,

Nor any whatſoever that

down into … go▪

But we the mighty Lord above

will bleſſe with one accord,

…om this time forth for evermore

moſt gladly praiſe the Lord.

PSAL. CXVI.

Love the Lord, and that becauſe

he with attentive ear

…y voice and ſupplications als

moſt willingly did hear.

Becauſe he hath inclin'd his ear

unto me troubled all,

…erefore as long as heer I live

I will upon him call.

Of death the ſorrows compaſſd me;

and paines of hell got hold

…oon time: I found troubles great

and ſorrows manifold.

Upon the name of GOD the LORD

then did I call, and ſay,

LORD, my ſoul deliver now

I thee moſt humbly pray.

The LORD is ever gracious ſtill

and righteous in his wayes,

Yea, our GOD to his ſervants all

is mercifull alwayes.

verse 6 The LORD thoſe ſafely doth preſerv…

that truely ſimple be,

I was through grief brought very low

and he then helped me.

verse 7 Unto thy quiet reſt my ſoul

return now joyfullie,

For bountifully hath the LORD

in mercy dealt with thee.

verse 8 For thou deliv'red haſt my ſoul

from death as thou thought meet,

My dimmed eyes from tears alſo,

from falling als my feet.

verse 9 I in the land of living men

will walk the Lord before:

verse 10 I did believe therefore I ſpake,

I was afflicted ſore.

verse 11 I ſaid in my moſt fooliſh haſt

that all men liers be;

verse 12 What ſhall I render to the Lord

for all his gifts to me?

verse 13 Salvations cup I will now take,

and on GODS Name will call:

verse 14 I'le pay my vows unto the Lord

before his people all.

verse 15 In the ſight of the living Lord

moſt precious is and dear

…he death of all his worthy Saints,

that truely do him fear.

verse 16 Oh Lord, I am thy ſervant, I

thy ſervant am indeed,

…nd als thy handmaids ſon: yea thou

haſt looſd my bonds with ſpeed.

verse 17 Of thankſgiving the ſacrifice

to thee I offer will,

…nd on the name of GOD the LORD

I will call humbly ſtill.

verse 18 With thankfull heart unto the Lord

my vows all will I pay,

In preſence of his people all

even now without delay.

verse 19 In the fair courts of the LORDS houſe,

yea in the midſt of thee

O beautifull Jeruſalem:

the living LORD praiſe ye.

PSAL. CXVII.

O Praiſe the Lord moſt thankfully

ye nations great and ſmall:

With heart and voice praiſe him alſo

on earth ye people all.

verse 2 For he his kindneſſe mercifull

to us doth ſtill afford,

For ever the LORDS truth endures:

praiſe ye alwayes the LORD.

PSAL. CXVIII.

O Give now thanks unto the Lord,

for he is good moſt ſure,

Becauſe his mercy alwayes great

for ever doth endure.

verse 2 That his mercy for ay endures

let Iſrael now ſay:

verse 3 Let Aarons houſe ſay alſo that

his mercy laſts for ay.

verse 4 Let them all now that fear the Lord

at this time plainly ſay,

That his mercy moſt wonderfull

endureth firm for ay,

verse 5 I in diſtreſſe cald on the LORD,

the Lord then anſwerd me,

He by his grace in a large place

anone did ſet me free.

verse 6 The Lord is alwayes on my ſide,

therefore I will not fear

What mortall man do alwayes can

unto me far or neer.

verse 7 The LORD doth take my part with them

that help me willingly,

Therefore upon them that me hate

I my deſire ſhall ſee.

verse 8 It better is ſtill in the Lord

to truſt with patience,

Than in a man that mortall is

to put our confidence.

verse 9 It better is ſtill in the Lord

to truſt with patience,

Then in thoſe that great Princes be

to put our confidence.

verse 10 The Nations all did compaſſe me

about, me to annoy.

But in the name of God the Lord

I will them all deſtroy.

verse 11 They compaſſd me about, yea …

did compaſſe me about;

But in the Lords name I will them

deſtroy and quite root out

verse 12 Like Bees they compaſſd me, as

of thornes they quenched fall,

For in the name of God the Lord

I will deſtroy them all.

verse 13 That I might fal thou ſore haſt thri…

But God then helped me,

verse 14 The Lord's my ſtrength & ſong, & …

ſalvation ſure is he.

verse 15 In tents of righteous men the voice

of joy and ſafety is;

The right hand of the mighty Lord

doth valiantly for his.

verse 16 The right hand of the Lord always

is now exalted hie,

The right hand of the mighty Lord

doth very valiantly.

verse 17 I ſhall not die, but live, and ſhew

the Lords great works therefore

verse 18 God hath me chaſtned ſore, but hath

to death not giv'n me ov'r.

verse 19 The gates of tighteouſneſſe to me

to open now accord;

gladly will go into them,

and I will praiſe the Lord.

verse 20 This gate of the Lord into which

the righteous enter ſhall:

verse 21 I'l praiſe thee for thou haſt me heard

and art my ſafety all.

verse 22 The ſtone the builders did refuſe

is of the corner head:

verse 23 This is Gods doing; in our eyes

it marvellous is indeed.

verse 24 This is the day which God the Lord

in mercy great hath made:

We greatly therefore will rejoice,

and in it will be glad.

verse 25 Save now, O Lord, I thee beſeech,

O Lord, I alwayes thee

Humbly beſeech, with all my heart

ſend now proſperitie.

verse 26 Who in the Name of the Lord come

ſtill bleſſed let him be,

Out of the houſe ev'n of the Lord

you bleſſed all have we.

verse 27 God is the Lord, who hath to us

ſhew'd light in each a do,

Bind ye the ſacrifice with cords

ev'n th' Altars hornes unto.

verse 28 Thou art my God, for this thou ſhalt

be praiſd alwayes by me:

Thou art my God, by me therefore

thou ſhalt exalted be.

verse 29 O give now thanks unto the Lord,

for he is good alway:

For his mercy moſt wonderfull

endureth faſt for ay.
