VNtoUnto the LORD moſt mercifull

O give now thanks together

For he is good, for his mercy

endureth faſt for ever.

verse 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD

ſay ſo in all the land,

Whom ſafely he redeemed hath

even from the enmies hand.

verse 3 And gathred them out of the lands,

wherein they were diſtreſt,

From South and alſo from the North,

from Eaſt and from the Weſt.

verse 4 They wandred in the wilderneſſe

a ſolitarie way,

They found no city there at all,

wherein to dwell or ſtay.

verse 5 They hungry all and thirſty als

were forced to lament,

Their ſoul in them in this diſtreſſe

moſt fearfully did faint.

verse 6 Then in their trouble to the LOR…

they fervently did cry,

And he them out of their diſtreſſe

deliv'red by and by.

verse 7 And he in mercy led them foorth

by the right way alſo,

That they of habitation good

might to a city go,

verse 8 Oh that all men would praiſe the Lo…

for his great goodneſſe then,

And for his works moſt wonderfull,

unto the ſons of men.

For he in love the longing ſoul

doth fully ſatisfie,

And filleth with his goodneſſe great

the ſouls that hungry be.

verse 10 Such as in darkneſſe ſit, and are

ev'n in deaths ſhadow found,

Who being in affliction great,

and yron alſo bound.

verse 11 Becauſe againſt the words of God

they ſtill rebelled then;

And the counſell of the moſt High

they proudly did contemne.

verse 12 Therefore with labour ſpeedily

he then brought down their heart,

They fel down flat, and there was none

to help them in their ſmart.

verse 13 Then in their trouble to the LORD

they fervently did cry,

And out of their diſtreſſes them

he ſaved by and by.

verse 14 He out of darkneſſe and als of

deaths ſhadow did them take,

And by his might he all their bands

ev'n quite aſunder brake.

verse 15 Oh that all men would praiſe the Lord

for his great goodnes then,

And for his works moſt wonderfull

unto the ſons of men.

verse 16 For he the gates that were of braſſe

hath broken by a wonder,

And by his mighty arme hath cut

the yron bars in ſunder.

verse 17 Becauſe of their tranſgreſſion,

and their iniquitie,

Fools, who do hate inſtruction

oft ſore afflicted be.

verse 18 Their weari'd ſoul alwayes abhor…

all maner of meat that's heer,

And they unto the gates of death

by ſickneſſe ſtill draw neer.

verse 19 Then in their trouble to the LOR…

they fervently do cry,

He out of their diſtreſſes all

them ſaveth by and by.

verse 20 He ſent his word to them anone

and heal'd them great and ſmall,

And alſo he deliv'red them

from their deſtructions all.

verse 21 Oh that all men would praiſe the Lord

for his great goodnes then,

…nd for his works moſt wonderfull

unto the ſons of men.

verse 22 To ſacrifice the ſacrifice

of thanks let them not ſpare;

…nd with rejoicing chearfully

his wondrous works declare.

verse 23 Who to the ſea go down in ſhips,

that trade in waters great,

verse 24 They ſee Gods works & wonders als

which in the depths he ſet.

verse 25 For he the ſtormy wind commands,

and raiſeth by and by,

Which furiouſly the waves thereof

lifts up unto the Sky.

verse 26 They mount up to the heav'n, they go

down to the depths again,

Their ſoul is melted fearfully

becauſe of troubling pain.

verse 27 They reel both to & fro while …

to ſave themſelves intend,

And ſtagger like a drunken man,

and are at their wits end.

verse 28 Then in their trouble to the LOR…

they fervently do cry,

And out of their diſtreſſes he

them bringeth by and by.

verse 29 The raging ſtorm a pleaſant cal…

he maketh at his will,

So that in a moſt wondrous way

the waves thereof are ſtill.

verse 30 Then are they glad becauſe that …

no more with tempeſts driv'n

Moſt quiet be; ſo he them brings

to their deſired hav'n.

verse 31 Oh that all men would praiſe … LOR…

for his great goodneſſe then,

And for his works moſt wonderfull

unto the ſons of men.

verse 32 Als in the congregation great

let them exalt him hie,

And thankfully ſtill praiſe him where

th'Elders aſſembled be.

verse 33 He turns into a wilderneſſe

the rivers by and by,

…nd water ſprings into a ground

that is exceeding dry.

verse 34 A fertile and a fruitfull land

he turns to barrenneſſe,

…ecauſe the men that dwell therein

are given to wickedneſſe.

verse 35 Into a ſtanding water all

the wilderneſſe he brings,

…nd he the dry and thirſty ground

turnes into water ſprings.

verse 36 There he doth make the hungrie dwell

that they a city fair

…or pleaſant habitation may

moſt joyfully prepare.

verse 37 And plant vineyards aboundantly,

and alſo ſow the field,

Which may at laſt moſt plenteouſly,

the fruits of increaſe yeeld.

verse 38 He alſo bleſſeth them, ſo that

they greatly do increaſe,

And ſuffreth not by any hurt

their cattell to decreaſe.

verse 39 Again they miniſh'd are and broght

down low far from relief,

Through very great oppreſſion,

affliction als and grief.

verse 40 On Princes he doth powre cōtempt

and cauſeth them to ſtray

In the waſt barren wilderneſſe,

wherein there is no way.

verse 41 Yet from affliction he the poore

ſets high as on a rock,

And him in mercy maketh als

great fam'lies like a flock.

verse 42 The righteous man it well ſhall ſe…

and heartily rejoice,

And after all iniquitie

her mouth ſhall ſtop and cloſe.

verse 43 Who ſo is wiſe, and wil thoſe things

obſerve in all the land;

The loving kindneſſe of the LORD

they well ſhall underſtand.

the people great and ſmall,

And will praiſes ſing to thee

verse 4 For great thy mercy is above

And als thy truth moſt excellent

unto the clouds doth reach.

verse 5 O God, above the higheſt heav'ns

be high exalted now,

And let thy glory als be ſeene

above the earth below.

verse 6 That thy belov'd in mercy may

by thee deliv'red be:

Save with thy right hand, and anone

in trouble anſwer me.

will ſafely bring with ſpeed?

Who by his mighty hand now will

me into Edom lead?

verse 11 Wilt thou not, O God, who us a…

off in thy wrath haſt caſt?

And wilt not thou foorth with o… hoa…

O GOD, go at the laſt?

verse 12 From trouble us thy people all

to help now not diſdain,

For in dayes of adverſitie,

the help of man is vaine.

verse 13 Through GOD we ſhal do valiantly

when we go to the fight,

For he it is that ſhall tread down

our enmies by his might.
