The Psalms of David in Meter, Metrical Psalter · Psalm 104
PSAL. CIIII.
O Bleſſe the LORD my ſoul; thou Lord
my God art very great:
With Honour high and Majeſtie
thou cloathed art in ſtate.
… …ht as a garm… …
… about
… lik… curt… … …eſt out
the heav'ns that … bright.
Who firmly doth his chamber beams walks
in waters lay and bind,
Who makes the clouds his coach, who
on the wings of the win…
Who maketh als his Angells all
ſprits, as he doth deſire
…is miniſters that are moſt ſwift,
even as a flaming fire.
Who the foundations of the earth
ſo firmely laid together.
…hat it thereafter ſhould not be
removed thence for ever.
With the great deep thou cov'reſt it
as with a garment good,
The ſwelling waters lifted up
above the mountains ſtood.
verse 7 At thy rebuke as one amaz'd
they fled without delay:
At the voice of thy thunder loud
they haſted all away.
verse 8 They by the mountains do go up:
and by the valleys low
To their own place which thou for the
haſt founded, down they flow.
verse 9 Thou haſt a bound ſet ſo that they
may not the ſame paſſe over,
That hencefoorth they turn not again
the earth below to cover.
verse 10 He ſendeth by his mighty power
the living ſprings along
Into the valleys, which do run
the higheſt hills among.
verse 11 To all the beaſts even of the field
they drink give as they liſt,
The aſſes wilde among their ſtreames
do gladly quench their thirſt.
verse 12 By them ſhal all the fowls of heav'n
take pleaſure for to dwell,
…hich on green branches blooming fair,
in ſweeteſt ſongs excell.
He wattreth frō his chambers high
the hills aboundantlie,
…he earth with the fruit of thy works
is ſatisfi'd by thee.
verse 14 For cattell he makes graſſe to grow
and herb exceeding good
…or mans ſervice, that from the earth
he may bring foorth his food.
verse 15 And wine that makes mans heart be glad
and oil in every part
To make his face to ſhine, and bread
which ſtrengthneth a mans heart.
verse 16 The pleaſant trees of God the Lord
even full of ſap do ſtand;
Of Lebanon, the Cedars which
he planted with his hand
verse 17 Where make their neſts wherein to ſit
the birds melodious,
As for the Stork, the fire trees are
appointed for her houſe.
verse 18 For the wild Goats the higeſt hil…
are a moſt ſure refuge …eſ…g….
The ragged rocks ordained are
the Conies for to lodge.
verse 19 For ſeaſons he appointeth ſtill
the Moon; likewiſe the Sun
Swift in his courſe ſtill knoweth well
each day his going down.
verse 20 Thou makeſt darknes by thy might,
and it is night indeed,
Wherein beaſts of the forreſt all
creep foorth then for to feed.
verse 21 The Lions young run heer and there
and roar to get their prey,
And from the GOD that formed them
their meat ſeek evry day.
verse 22 The Sun ariſeth, they themſelves
together gather then,
And lay them down moſt quietly
in their retired den.
verse 23 Man goeth foorth then chearfully
unto his work with ſpeed:
And to his labour carefully▪
untill the evening tide.
verse 24 How manifold Lord are thy works?
in wiſdome wonderfull
Thou madſt them all: the earth always
is of thy riches full.
verse 25 So is this ſea that's great and wide
wherein things creeping all
Innumerable are, ev'n beaſts
that are both great and ſmall.
verse 26 There alſo go with ſpeedie courſe
the Ships ſwift in their way,
There is that Leviathan whom
thou madſt therein to play.
verse 27 All thoſe things wel do wait on thee
that as thou thinkeſt meet,
Thou mayeſt ſtill in ſeaſon due,
give unto them their meat.
verse 28 That which thou giveſt unto them
they gather for their food,
Thy hand thou op'neſt chearfully,
and they are fill'd with good.
verse 29 Thy face thou hideſt, then they are
all troubled, and do mourne,
Thou tak'ſt away their breath, they die
and to their duſt returne.
verse 30 Thou ſendeſt forth thy ſprit, they art
created by thy breath,
And thou by thy great might renewe
the face of all the earth.
verse 31 The glory of the LORD our GOD
endure ſhall faſt for ever,
The Lord God alſo ſhall rejoice
in his great works of wonder.
verse 32 The earth below doth tremble all
when he on it doth look,
The hils he toucheth that are high
and they together ſmoak.
verse 33 I to the Lord ev'n while I live
will ſing, as he doth crave;
I will ſing praiſe unto my GOD
while I my being have.
verse 34 My meditation of him ſhall
be moſt ſweet unto me;
Yea in the LORD that me ſuſtaines
I ever glad will be.
verse 35 Conſume thou ſinners frō the earth,
let wicked be no more:
Bleſſe now the Lord, O thou my ſoul,
praiſe ye the LORD therefore.
