The Psalms of David in Meter with the Prose Interlined, Psalm 50

PSAL. L.

THe mighty God, even the Lord hath spoken, and called the earth, from the rising of the Sun, unto the going down thereof.

THe mighty God the Lord hath spoke and call'd the earth anone,

Ev'n from the rising of the sun unto his going down.

2 Out of Sion the perfection of beauty, God hath shined

2 From out of his own Sion hill where the perfection

Of beauty is, the Lord himself hath shined us upon.

3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall very tempestuous round about him,

3 Our God shall come, and he shall not keep silence any more,

A fire tempestuous round about before him shall devore.

4 He shall▪ call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

4 He to the Heavens from above, and to the earth shall call,

That he so may the judgement give unto his people all.

5 Gather my saints together unto me: those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

5 Together to me gather now my saints on earth that be,

Those that have made by sacrifice a Covenant with me.

6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousnesse: for God is judge himself. Selah.

6 And so the righteousnesse that's his the heavens shall declare,

Because that God himself is he by whom all judged are. Selah.

7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak O Israel, and I will testisie against thee: I am God, even thy God.

7 Hear, O my people, and I'le speak, and I will testify

Against thee, O thou Israel, GOD, ev'n thy GOD am I.

8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices. or thy burnt-offerings to have been continually before me.

8 For sacrifice or offrings burnt I will not lesse or more

Reprove thee, for continually to have been me before.

9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor hee goats out of thy folds.

10 For every beast of the forrest is mine and the cattell upon a thousand hils.

9 I'le take no bullock, nor hee goats from house nor folds of thine▪

10 For beasts of forrest, cattell all on thousand hils are mine.

11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wilde beasts of the field are mine.

11 The fowls that on the mountains are are all unto me known;

The wild beasts also of the field they likewise are mine own.

12 If I were hungry I would not tell thee, for the world is mine, and the fulnesse thereof.

12 If I were hungry I the same would not tell unto thee,

For that the world and fulnesse all thereof belongs to me▪

13 Will I eat the flesh of buls, or drink the blood of goats,

14 Offer unto God thanksgiving, and pay thy vows unto the most High.

13 Will I ev'n eat the flesh of buls? or goats blood drink will I;

14 Thanks offer unto God, and pay thy vows to the most Hy.

15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorifie me.

15 And in the day of trouble great do thou upon me cry

I thee deliver will; and then thou shalt me glorify.

16 But unto the wicked God saith, What …st thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth.

16 But God unto the wicked saith, Why dost thou mention make

Now of my laws? or in thy mouth shouldst thou my covenant take?

17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

17 Sith that thou from thy heart dost hate instruction for thy minde;

And all the words that come from me thou castest thee behind.

18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

18 Then with a thief thou didst consent, when as thou him hadst seen,

And also with adulterers a partaker hast been.

19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother, thou slanderest thine owne mothers sonne.

19 Thou unto ill thy mouth dost give, thy tongue deceit doth frame,

20 Thou sit'st and'gainst thy brother speakst thy mothers sonne to shame.

21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence: thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thy self: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

21 These things thou didst▪ I silence kept like thee thou thought'st me right:

I'le thee reprove, and will them set in order in thy sight.

22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver you.

22 Now ye that do the Lord forget do ye this thing consider,

Lest that I you in peices tear, and none be to deliver.

23 Whoso offereth praise, glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

23 Who offreth praise me glorifies; of God I the salvation

Will shew to him that ordereth aright his conversation.
