Chriſtian Reader,
THe good acceptance which other Tracts of this worthy author have found with thee hath drawne theſe peices to the Preſs. Pieces which are indeed minima mole, but maxima virture, little in bulk, great in efficacy and uſefulneſſe. Foure ſubjects here are, every one of great concernment to Chriſtians. Firſt, Here's the uſe of the law in a ſinners converſion, which is much every way. And that is the beſt argument to overthrow that ſoul-deſtroying Doctrine of Antinomianiſme. 2. Here is the Doctrine of watchfulneſs, which, of how great importance it is, the many and wofull Inſtances of back ſliding and miſearrying Chriſtians, occaſioned principally by the neglect of this great duty, are convincing demonſtrations. 3. Here is that foundation doctrine of regeneration, which is none other but the gate of heaven without the knowledge and experience whereof no ſalvation is to be had, If thou haſt it here thou maiſt read the diſcoveries of it to thy conſolation, If thou want it, hence thou maiſt be committed to thy caution and excitation. Laſtly here is the Doctrine of the Sabbath that great commandment the cuſtos utriuſque tabulae the keeper of both the tables, which therefore God hath made a frontire commandment, bordering upon them both: In a word all of them deſerved ſuch a writer, and he ſuch ſubjects, and both the writer and ſubject call out for thy profiting thereby both in knowledge and in grace which is the intent of the publiſher. Farewell.
