2 In Ephraims and Benjamins, and in Manasses sight
O do thou come and us to save do thou stir up thy might.
3 Turn us again, O God: and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
4 O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people.
3 Lord turn us, cause thy face to shine, and saved be shall we▪
4 Gainst thy folks prayer, Lord God of hosts, how long wroth wilt thou be.
5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
5 Thou with the bread that is of tear… them feedest for their meat,
And thou unto them tears dost give to drink in measure great.
6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
6 Thou makest us a strife to be our neighbours all unto,
And those that are our en'mies laugh among themselves also.
7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved
7 O Lord, that art the God of hosts, turn us again to thee,
Cause thou thy face to shine on us and we shall saved be:
8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt? … cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Thou preparedst room before it: and did, b…cause it to take deep root and it filled the land.
… Thou plantd'st … vine from Egypt brought and cast out heathen men:
9 Thou room it mad'st, deep root it gav'st the land it filled then.
10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it: and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea: and her branches unto the river.
10 Its shade the hills cov'rd, and its boughs were like the Cedars good.
11 Her boughs out to the sea she sent, her branches to the stood.
12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges: so that all they which passe by the way do pluck her.
13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it: and the wilde beast of the field doth devour it.
12 Why brakst thou down her hedge that all which passe by pluck her sore?
13 The Boar from wood it wasts, wilde beasts of field do it devore.
14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts… look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine:
14 O God of hosts, we thee beseech return thou unto thine:
Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit thou thi… vine.
15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted▪ and the branch that thou madest strong for thy self.
15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted us among,
And als the branch that for thy self thou madest to be strong.
16 It is burnt with fire, and it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
16 It wholly is burnt up with fire, and als cut down is it,
When by thy face they are rebuk'd, they then do perish quite.
17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand: upon the son of man▪ whom thou madest strong for thy self.
17 Upon the man of thy right hand O let thy hand now be,
On him that is the son of man whom thou madst strong for thee.
18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy Name.
18 So will not we at any time go back from thee at all,
O do thou quicken us, and wee upon thy Name will call.
19 Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine and we shall be saved.
19 O Lord, who art the God of Hosts, turn us again to thee:
Do thou thy face cause for to shine, and we shall saved be.
PSAL. LXXXI.
SIng aloud unto God our strength: make a joyfull noise unto the God of Iacob.
2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrell: the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
TO Jacobs God make joyfull noise, to God our strength loud sing:
2 Take psalme with psaltry, pleasant harp and timbrell hither bring.
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon: in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
3 Do ye blow up in the new moon, the trumpet for to play,
Ev'n in the time appointed thus on our feast solemn day.
4 For this was a statute for Israel: and a law of the God of Iacob.
4 For this for Israel was made a statute to endure;
Of him that God of Jacob is it was a law most sure.
5 This he ordained in Ioseph for a testimony, when he went out thorow the land of Egypt, where I heard a language, that I understood not.
5 This law in Joseph he ordain'd, when he through Egypt land
… out, where I a language heard I did not understand.
6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands wore delivered▪ from the pots.

10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
10 I am the Lord thy God which brought thee out of Egypt land:
Thy mouth wide open thou, and I will fill it with my hand.
11 But my people would not hearken unto my voice: and Israel would none of me.
11 But yet my people to my voice would not obedient be;
And they that are of Israel would then have none of me.
12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
12 Unto the lust of their own heart I did them give up so,
And after that in counsells they that were their own did go.
13 O that my people had hearkened unto me: and Israel had walked in my wayes▪
13 O that my people unto me had hearkned in their dayes,
And that the men of Israel had walked in my wayes.
14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries
14 I should have soon their enemies▪ subdu'd that them withstand,
And against their adversaries I should have turnd my hand.
15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
15 Who hate the Lord, should have themselves submitted him before:
But as for them, their time should have endur'd for evermore.
16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with hony out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
16 Them with the finest of the wheat fed also should have he;
With honey from the rock I should have satisfied thee.

14 As the fire burneth a wood: and as the flamme setteth the mountains on fir….
15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
14 As fire burns wood, and as a flame on fire doth mountains set:
15 Them with thy tempest persecute, thy storm affright them let.
16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy Name, O Lord.

My Gods house door I'le rather keep then dwell …tends of sin.

5 And wilt thou ev'n for evermore be angry so with us …
Wilt thou to generations all draw out thine anger thus?
6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

PSAL. LXXXVI.
BOw down thine ear, O Lord, hear me, for I am poor and needy.
DO thou bow down thine ear, O Lord▪ hear thou me by and by,
Because that I most needy am and very poor am I.
2 Preserve my soul, for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
2 Because I'm holy let my soul by thee preserved be,
O thou my God, thy servant save that puts his trust in thee.
3 Be mercifull unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
4 Rejoyce the soul of thy servant: for unto thee (O Lord) do I lift up my soul.

7 I'le on thee call in troublous day▪ for thou wilt answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee (O Lord) neither are there any works like unto thy works:
8 Among the gods, Lord, there is none that like is unto thee:
Yea, neither are there any works like to thy works that be.
9 All nations whom thou hast made, shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorifie thy Name.
9 All nations whom thou hast made, shall come▪ Lord, and the same
Before the worship shall, and they shall glorifie thy Name.
10 For thou art great, and dost wondrous things: thou art God alone.
10 For thou exceedingly art great, and by thee als are done
Things that indeed most wondrous be, yea thou art God alone.
11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy Name.

And do thou so unite my heart, that I thy Name may fear.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorifie thy Name for evermore.

Long suffring, both in mercy great, in truth als plenteous.
16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me, give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.

Unto thy servant give thy strength, son of thy handmaid save.
17 Shew me a token for good, that they which hate me, may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.
17 For good to me a token shew, that who me hate may see,
And be asham'd, because, Lord, thou didst help and comfort me.
PSAL. LXXXVII.
HIs foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 The Lord loveth the gates of Zion, more then all the dwellings of Iacob.
IN mountains that most holy are is his foundation:
2 God more then Jacobs dwellings all the gates loves of Zion.

Behold ye Tyre and also those that of Philistia were▪
With those of Ethiopia this man he born was there.
5 And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the Highest himself shall establish her.
5 And of Zion it shall be said this, that man, born was there;
And he that is the Highest one himself shall stablish her.
6 The Lord shall count them when he writeth up the people: that this man was born there. Selah.
7 As well the singers, as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.
6 When God the people writs, hee'l count this man there born to be: Selah.
7 With singers players on instruments my springs are all in thee.
PSAL. LXXXVIII.
O Lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee.
2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry.
LORD GOD, my Saviour, day and night before thee cry'd have I:
2 Before thee let my prayer come, give ear unto my cry.
3 For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.
4 I am counted with th…m that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength.
3 For troubles great do fill my soul, my life drawes near the grave:
4 I'm counted with men down in pit, no strength at all I have.
5 Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou remembrest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
5 Among the dead free, like the slain, that in the grave do ly,
Whom thou no more dost mind; and from thy hand cut off are they.
6 Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit in darknesse, in the deeps.
7 Thy wrath lieth hard upon me: and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.
6 In darknes in the lowest pit in depths me laid thou hast,
7 Thy wrath lies hard on me, with all thy waves thou hast me prest. Selah.
8 Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me: thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
8 Thou mine acquaintan… hast put far, abomination… so
Thou madst me to them, I'm shut up and forth I can not go.
9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord, I have called daily upon thee: I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
9 By reason of affliction, Lord, mine eye it mourns in me,
Upon thee daily have I call'd, and stretcht mine hands to thee.
10 Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead, shall the dead arise, and praise thee. Selah.
10 Wilt thou to those that now are dead shew wonders great that be?
Or shall the dead arise again, and praise give unto thee? Selah.
11 Shall thy loving kindnesse be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulnesse in destruction?
11 Thy loving kindnesse shall it be declared in the grave?
Or shall men in destruction thy faithfulnesse perceive?
12 Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousnesse in the land of forgetfulnesse?
12 Shall thy great wonders in the dark, or yet thy righteousnesse
Be known to them that in the land are of forgetfulnesse.
13 But unto thee have I cried, O Lord: and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
14 Lord, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?
13 But Lord to thee I cri'd, at morn my prayer prevent shall thee:
14 Why dost thou Lord cast off my soul, and hidst thy face from me?
15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrours, I am distracted.
15 Afflicted and up from my youth I ready am to dy?
While I thy terrours suffer thus, distracted then am I.
16 Thy fieree wrath goeth over me: thy terrours have cut me off.
17 They came round about me like water: they compassed me about together.
16 Thy terrours they have cut me off, thy fierce wrath goes me over:
17 Like water they me round inclos'd, and compassd me together.
18 Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darknes.
18 My lover and my friend also far hast thou put from me▪
And into darknes them likewise that mine acquaintance be.
