THe Revelation, is a diſcouerie of thoſe notable matters that concerne the Chriſtian Churche, from her beginning to the latter day, ſet out by viſions, which Chriſt hath ſhewed to his Apoſtle Iohn: And it containeth
A particular admonition, which as an Epiſtle, is directed vntounto the ſeuen Churches of litle Aſia, and it containeth
The preface, which ſheweth the director, the receiuer, & to whome the meſſage is directed, ſet out ſpiritually, cap. 1.
The meſſage directed particulary to the Churches of Epheſus, Smyrna, Pergamus, Thyatira, cap 2. And to Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea cap, 3. And it containeth
The reproofe of certaine pointes of their defection, threatning them to amendement.
The commendation of certain of their godly doings, exhorting them to perſeuerance.
A general diſcourſe of all alterations, which generally doe concerne or intereſt the Chriſtian Church from her beginning to the latter day, and it containeth
An orderly part, which deduceth ſucceſsiuely, briefly, & in due order of time all alterations concerning the Chriſtian Church: and it containeth
A hiſtorie of thoſe thinges which wer accompliſhed before they wer written, expreſſed cap. 4.5.6.7. and beginning of the 8, vnderunder the termes of ſeven ſeales.
A prophecie, forewarning all notable accidentes, alterations and changes, that concerne the chriſtian Church, betwixt S. Iohn his dayes and the latter day: and it is
Secular, which forewarmeth ſuch mutationes of earthlie kingdomes, and commotions of Empires as any way concerneth the Chriſtian Church; & this is done in the reſt of the 8. cap. & in the whole 9. chapter, vnderunder the termes of ſixe of the ſeuen Trumpets. Hereafter followeth in the tenth chapter, an introduction to the ſeuen thunders, or ſeuen thundering Angels, which are myſteries of the ſeuenth trumpet and latter day.
Eccleſiaſtical, which ſimply and altogether forewarneth the onelyonly progreſſ of Gods true church, & this is done Cap. 11.
And amplificatiue part, wherein are more largely ſet downe and expounded thoſe greateſt and moſt notable maters, which wer ouer ſummarlie, briefly, or obſcurelie expreſſed in the orderlie part, & this forewarneth the eſtate of the Elect
on earth by commotions
Eccleſiaſtical, wherin are deſcribed, the Antichriſtian beaſtes ſtrife with Gods Church cap. 12. and that Beaſt his tokens and qualities cap. 13. and the progres of his falling, and the riſing of the Evangell to the latter day, cap. 14. and the interpretation of the Beaſtes tokens cap. 17. & the decay of his citie and ſeat, Cap, 18, and the triumph alſo of Gods Church, cap, 19. And finallie is expounded briefly, cap, 20. how Gods publik and priuat enemies, ſtriue againſt other, and both againſt his Church: but at length to their own wracke and confuſion eternally. Amen.
